Just Another Day~~

1. My girl has had a sore throat since Christmas morning and this evening she broke out in hives. What's up with that? Looks like it's the doctors tomorrow.

2. Tommy (21) brought his ex-girlfriend over for a visit. It was fun seeing her and she commented to Ben (7) on how much he had grown. Ben- "That's what happens when you stay away so long."

3. Tommy came over to show me how to set up, download and upload my new iPod. (Christmas present from Tommy) Yeah-- I'll be groovin at work tomorrow.....Grrr that I had to have Tommy come help me because I wasn't able to figure it out myself. I think he's a wiz since he doesn't have to read any directions for anything electronic & just knows how to do it YET... makes me feel old and incapable. I'll get over it.

4. Made these cute little trees tonight that I wanted to try but hadn't had time to do. They are so, so cute. I did 6 so far and I think I'm hooked.

5. My neice is getting married Saturday so we area off to Bend on Friday. Tomorrow...hem Ben's pants for the wedding(should have been doing all this instead of trees but.. oh well), pack, finish picking up so we'll come home to a clean house, take some more of my craft stuff (it over flowed up the stairs and into my room and has taken over) down to my craft room, take Maya to the doctor (maybe we won't be going to Bend), work my required 8 hours, go buy a blouse & shoes for the wedding.....breathe.

6. Praise God that I don't have to do this all on my own. He is my PEACE!!!

What's in a Name?

We're going to be grandparents. Wow, we're going to be grandparents. It's a girl and we're really excited that we are going to have an addition to the family. I'm from a family of 2 girls and 2 boys. Of us 4 kids, we've had 8 boys and only 3 girls so girls are pretty exciting. So much to sew, so much to buy, so many crafts I could make for her. Honestly, we would be just as excited if it were a boy but we are excited to have girl sweetness coming along. We pray for a healthy granddaughter.

Now if my son only lived close by. Looks like lots of trips to CA for visits and they will have to trek up to Oregon. We're praying that our son has a change of heart and will want to move up here. Hey, I can pray all I want.. for what I want and God is okay with that. Doesnt' mean he'll answer it the way I want but I do know that he is listening and for that I am grateful. He promises to hear me even though he doesn't say he'll give me everything I ask for but I am hopeful that it is Gods will that they will move up here. If not, as long as he's where God wants him to be, that's the best I could want for him.

Now, what am I going to be called. I don't feel like a grandma or Nana (what we call our grandmothers in Spanish) so now I only have 2 more months to figure it out. Any suggestions? Please...any one? I have an idea, the winning answer will receive a 4"x4" collage that I will create in the theme of your choice. Now.... do I have any suggestions?

Today is her Birthday~~~

9 years old and full of life since day one. I had two boys before she was born and I thought having a girl would be calmer, cleaner, pink and delicate 24/7. That's not exactly how it has turned out. Maya J is social, creative, generous, full of energy, personable and a gift from God. She shows me what is important and speaks her mind. She keeps me focused on what I have to be grateful for and fully engaged in my community. She loves church and all the people there, she loves our neighbors and neighborhood, she loves her friends & family, she loves her teachers and school, she loves God and has so many wonderful virtues that I admire. She's genuine and loving and a blessing.. I love her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE~~~~~~

Simple Starts~

I've been so amazed by the art people create through the lay out of their blogs and how much pleasure I get from the photos, stories and arts & crafts. I'm no computer wiz but I think this is a great way to keep in touch with my family and friends that live far away or even if they're close by. This blog will focus on the simple pleasures I don't want to ever take for granted. (I'm new to the whole altered art scene but this is a 4"x4" collage with a 'Winter Wishes' theme for a swap on another site. )
