Luna~

I never tire of God's beauty that He has created. A beautiful fall evening full of clear skies and Oregon beauty.

I'm so pleased my little camera was able to capture it. I've been having problems with the programming uploading my pictures from my camera and I've been plugging along for the last month trying to get it to cooperate. I don't know what I did but I finally got it to work. Yay~

Changes~~

Waiting on this. I am so excited to get a quality all-in-one printer. I've spent some money on a couple of cheapies and I got what I paid for. I thought I'd have to spend more to get a great printers but less than 100 and I'm a happy consumer. This one is recommended by her and I've seen her print jobs and I am so excited to have pink be pink, yellow be yellow, orange be orange, purple be purple and black be black. What a concept.

Saw this on Oprah and knew I had to try it. My children will eat some veggies but it really is a miserable lot in life to have to coax your children into trying vegetables. The recipes are supposed to be low fat too so double good for us. It's written by Jerry Seinfeld's wife Jessica and I think it's a brilliant idea. Our family can always use healthier options, cut back and we need to start making better choices.

I feel it's a season for change, not only because it's fall but because it's on my heart to improve my parenting attitude & skills...improve the attitude & choices my kids make...improve on our health and eating habits...simplify our household...simplify our lifestyle which includes slowing down a smidge, less television, more reading, more face to face time instead of just existing side by side...clear out some clutter and keep only what we use and I mean really use. Not something I decide to hold on to 'just in case' I need it. All of these areas will be challenging to me but I have to try while I'm in the mind to do so.

10 Things Tuesday~~

Straight to being thankful~
1. Drugs to relieve the back pain. Lots of warnings and 'talks' came with this prescription. They're scaring me but after two weeks of back pain, I need the pain to go away.

2. The sound of Ben reading out loud for homework. I've always like the sound of the kids reading out loud.

3. Bible study, at our house, starting back up on Sunday.

4. Friends that hadn't been coming to church are coming back and to our Bible study too. Very happy.

5. Sharing in a friends loss of her precious kitty. She feels deeply for her little four legged friends and deserves the support.

6. Another cozy evening with a fire.

7. Major progress on a craft that I'm doing for a craft show. Feels so good to not wait til the last minute and stressing about it.

8. This book and the hope it gives me to turn around the latest attitudes, choices and interactions.

9. The virtue we're learning this month at church is Respect and how that's going to go hand in hand with the above book.

10. All the laundry finished and a pretty clean house. Not sparkling clean but not messy either.

10 Things Tuesday on Thursday~

Okay Tuesday was a really, really, really bad evening and that's when I write so '10 Things Tuesday' came and went with me forgetting all about being grateful. Do you think every Tuesday is doomed this way? Sheesh.

The boy had a major melt down and since it doesn't take much for him to go over the edge... well it ended up being a rough bed time just when all seemed to be going well. By the time all was calm again, I was spent and could only thing of crawling in bed and ending the day.

I still must be grateful for all that's going right:

1. Bed time Monday night was ideal. Kids brushed their teeth, didn't bicker, read for 15 minutes in bed and turned off their light without being asked because they were tired.

2. Thankful that Tuesday evening is over.

3. The sound of hard rain outside my bedroom window as I'm snuggled warm in my bed with flannel sheets and my down comforter.

4. The leaves changing color for fall; Gold, yellow, chartreuse, orange, apple red, glowing red and wine. They are sooo awesome.

5. Cozy fires in the fireplace again.

6. Fall decorations up again. Do you get the impression that I like fall?

7. Cleaned out bedroom and downstairs day basement.

8. # 7 counts as two because I'm really, really thankful for a clean bedroom and day basement.

9. Diagnosed outer ear infection for Ben and prescription ear drops so he won't be in pain any more.

10. My mom traveling safely to Oregon.

Conversation with Ben~

Me: Hey Ben, how was school today?

Ben: Amazing. (dry tone and doesn't take his eyes off the computer)

Me: What was so amazing about it?

Ben: I farted all day long and my teacher gave me 13 tickets. (tickets can be turned in for prizes. using the same tone and still not taking his eyes off the computer)

Me: Laughing out loud.

(I guess his answer is better than the normal "I don't know.")
