Oh Dear~

I've done it again. I can't say no. Sigh.... but I'm happy and excited.

Our October~

Fall colors that fill my senses like no other season.

A sense of urgency for the upcoming holidays that I enjoy so much.

Bringing the outdoors in.

Feeling the need to get ready for the winter so I prepare.

And I can't forget Ben's birthday. 9 this year. He's so bright, funny, serious, genuine, sensitive and will always be my youngest love.

Simple at its Best~

Changes~

Have you ever had a panic attack? I've never had one, that I'm aware of but I often get a sense that something is about to happen. Not even something bad but just that there is about to be a change. My senses get hyper-sensitive, my thoughts race, my skin seems to pulse, my breathing seems loud even though it's not and I am very aware of my surroundings.

In order to ground myself I do a lot of cleaning, cooking, re-arranging, sorting, purging, accessorize for the season, weather permitting I make fires in the fireplace and stay pretty close to home when I'm not working.

This time I'd like to think that it's the change in the season. The colors are changing, the weather is shifting, the holiday's are approaching, we're still settling into the school year in a new school building, 3 family birthdays are approaching and I just sense it all at once. Well back to crocheting. That too keeps my mind focused.

Domesticating~

The husband is hunting and the rest of us are making Almond Roca, pumpkin butter and pumpkin puree. Man the sun is beautiful today. It's an absolutely beautiful Fall day.

Feeling It~

I feel Fall coaxing me to slow down. To see the colors, to prepare for the coming Winter and to notice all about the season. Tonight me and the kids will go pick Granny Smith apples at Melodee's. They will be good for freezing so I can have them for baking. More of these apple galettes in the coming cold days. This recipe is so good and so fast & easy. I will make more.

Getting inspiration for a Christmas Cookie Swap. Oh yes I did do this. I'm really excited~ Lovely Erin from VA is my partner. She's from CA and we have other similarities too. I always enjoy the people that I'm brought together with when swapping. Swappers are a great community!!!
