Happy Feelings~

Random happy that has me feeling good and appreciating the day. 1. old buttons that make me smile. 2. sun, sun and more sun. It's cold outside but who cares when you have sun shining in! 3. Safe return of my man from Cali. 4. Hope that my children will learn from their mistakes and only get better at being all that they should be. 5. Health of my family. Never take that for granted! I'd rather they be difficult to handle and have their moments because they are well enough and have the energy to give me grief. 6. Hope and peace each day I breath. 7. All my needs are taken care of. No worries.
8. Putting my energy in to what I can change and not worry about what I can't. 9. New possibilites and directions. 10. Freedom to choose and do.

Ben: Mom will you please let me have a Lincoln Park CD?

Me: No Ben. I know you like them but I just don't think they're good for you to listen to.

B: I've heard them before Mom.

M: Just because you heard them before doesn't mean you should continue to hear them when

we know there are bad words in their songs. Tommy says there are versions

that are edited without the bad words and he's working on finding those for you.

B: Dad listens to Lincoln Park on one of those card things.

M: What card things? I don't know what you're talking about.

B: Those card things that you put in and they play music.

M: (thinking)

B: Mom, did you hear me?

M: Yes. Are you talking about cassette tapes?

B: Yeah... that's what they're called. Anyways, he has one of Lincoln Park and he likes them.

M: I know Ben but he's a man and I can't choose for another adult. I can choose for you and do

for you what I'm supposed to do.

B: I know.

Moral of the story: My 9 year old son didn't know what a cassette tape was. How old does that make me feel? Sheesh.

Home~

Snowing Again~

We have snow....again. Thankfully the forecast is rain through the night because after 3 weeks of kids being home, we need them to be able to go to school tomorrow.

Life has been busy since the New Year began:

-Crafting on Friday.

-Christmas decorations put away and the house re-arranged, cleaned, sorted and feeling so much bigger and simpler. Just the way I like it.

-Fresh bread is baking.

-Apple gallette consumed.

-Red Velvet cupcakes made for the first time. Yum but the recipe for the frosting was almost triple the amount I needed so I'm making German chocolate cupcakes so I can use it up. Those will go to work tomorrow. They will be consumed in no time.

-Warm sleeping on my cozy flannel sheets.

-Naps taken.
