I c...I was in the shower when the first plane hit. I came out, and hubby told me that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I was in the middle of saying "was it an accident?" as the second plane hit, and when we saw that he said "I don't think so". <BR/><BR/>I'd only been on the job for a week or so. My officemate brought a radio in so we could listen to the news. Several people came around to ask how we were doing. I remember worrying with my boss about whether her family in New Jersey was ok. <BR/><BR/>I remember it took a week for me to cry. Odd for me, it doesn't take much to make me cry. I think I was overwhelmed. I didn't cry until I heard one of the owners of the restaurant on top of the tower speak on TV. He'd been going in late that day for some reason, and was one of just a few people on his staff to survive. Hearing his story was devastating. <BR/><BR/>A few days later, we found out that one of my brother's high school friends worked in Tower 2. I never knew that. He stayed home that day - he'd woken up with such an immense feeling of dread and foreboding that he didn't want to leave the house, so he stayed put.
