2 Dishes~

Two dishes for Thanksgiving that I do not care for are Green Bean Casserole and Yams smothered in marshmallows & brown sugar. But my man loves them and requested them for Thursday so being the ever lovin woman of his I made these for him. Eewwhhhh. Well while I was making the yam dish, Ben wandered into the kitchen and immediately zoned in on the marshmallows.

Ben: Can I have one of these marshmallows?
Me: Sure.
Ben: What are they out for?
Me: For this dish I'm making.
Ben: What is that?
Me: Yams.
Ben: Are there marshmallows in that?
Me: No.
Ben: Are you going to put marshmallows in that?
Me: Yes.
Ben: Why?
Me: Because that's just the way this dish is made. Brown sugar too.
Ben: Why do you put marshmallows and brown sugar in that?
Me: That's the way dad likes it and it's a Thanksgiving dish that a lot of people make.
Ben: Noooooo! That's just a waste of good marshmallows!!

Amen brother~

I agree with you on the yams but not the green been casserole ... one of my all-time favorites! Yum. Feel free to send any leftovers my way - I'll get rid of 'em for you!

I used to agree with you on the yams, but when I met hubby's family, I discovered that, with ENOUGH marshmallows, butter, and brown sugar, even yams are good, LOL!

I do have a soft spot for green bean casserole, I must say...
